ACHIEVEMENTS
The Friends of Chelmsford Museums was established to support the various activities of Chelmsford Museums. Fund raising is a priority and the money raised is used to enhance the museum's infrastructure and to purchase additional artefacts. Money raised locally can sometimes encourage national organisations to make a contribution towards the purchase of a specific object.
The Friends have raised over £30,000 allowing them to assist with the purchase of the following :

- 1996 Re-casing and display of the Crompton medals
- 1996 Purchase of tea urn for Chelmsford Museum
- 1997 Springfield Basin Information Board and Plaque
