The Friends of Chelmsford Museums was established to support the various activities of Chelmsford Museums.   Fund raising is a priority and the money raised is used to enhance the museum's infrastructure and to purchase additional artefacts.     Money raised locally can sometimes encourage national organisations to make a contribution towards the purchase of a specific object.
